👨💻 About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Sourcing Coordinator (Soft Goods Specialist) to join our team in Dongguan, China. This role will focus primarily on soft goods sourcing (bags, luggage, textiles, and accessories) and support across adjacent categories where needed. You’ll be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers across Asia, with a focus on cost-down opportunities, quality, and speed to market.
About You
You’ll work closely with our Sourcing Manager (Ben Tyler), NPD, Engineering, and Quality teams. You’ll be hands-on with suppliers in China and Southeast Asia, running sourcing projects, supporting cost-down exercises, and conducting supplier audits.
We’re looking for someone with proven soft goods sourcing experience who can contribute independently, not just execute tasks - someone who can spot risks and opportunities, and add value by helping us scale this category efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Supplier Development
- Source and evaluate suppliers for bags, backpacks, luggage, and textiles.
- Maintain a pool of qualified vendors aligned to Mous’ cost, quality, and delivery needs.
- Support supplier diversification into Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, and other regions.
Cost-Down & Engineering Collaboration
- Work with engineering/product teams to break down BOMs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Advise on material options, QC requirements, and design-for-manufacture improvements.
Audit & Compliance
- Conduct supplier audits (performance, capability, compliance).
- Collect and verify certifications, business licenses, and ethical compliance records.
Supplier Performance Management
- Support supplier scorecards, track KPIs, and flag risks in delivery, quality, or cost.
- Document findings and improvement plans in clear, actionable reports.
Administration & Reporting
- Manage RFQs, quotes, NDAs, and tech pack distribution.
- Maintain accurate supplier records in Wrike/Excel.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership review.
- Assist with system and process improvements.
How Success Will Be Measured
- Ability to deliver sourcing projects on time with minimal oversight.
- Clear cost-down impact on soft goods BOMs.
- Quality of supplier audits and reporting.
- Strong internal feedback from Engineering, NPD, and Quality teams.
- Progression toward taking ownership of the soft goods category.
Skills Requirements
Hard Skills
- 3–5 years of sourcing experience, must include soft goods (bags, backpacks, textiles, luggage).
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and QC standards within soft goods.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and performance evaluations.
- Proven ability to work with engineering teams to analyse BOMs and identify cost-down opportunities.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin (written & spoken).
- Advanced Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills.
- Property management software, e.g., Wrike, Trello, Asana etc.
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
Soft Skills
Strong project management, time management, and multitasking.
- Proactive and analytical, able to problem-solve independently.
- Strong communicator with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience sourcing in China and across SEA.
- Familiarity with ERP/sourcing platforms.
- Knowledge of sustainability or ethical sourcing principles.
