👨💻 About the Role
We're excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Product Developer – Soft Goods to be a part of our expanding team in the UK! As we grow both steadily and swiftly, we're embarking on numerous new projects. For these ventures, we require an enthusiastic individual who can drive product development from prototype through to production, ensuring innovation, quality, and efficiency every step of the way.
👋 About You
As a Senior Product Developer at Mous, you'll work collaboratively with our Product team. You will report directly to our Head of Product Development (Accessories & Soft Goods). This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to contribute to a fast-paced environment, playing a crucial role in driving our projects to successful completion with precision and efficiency.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and project manage the development of multiple bag and accessory projects from prototype through to production.
- Building, maintaining and updating product tech packs and the product Bill of Materials (BOMs)
- Review construction, dimensional accuracy, and quality of all samples.
- Collaborate closely with the Soft Goods Team, UK Engineering Team, China Production and Quality teams as well as external suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding sample progress, planning, and building strong relationships.
- Lead cost engineering projects, ensuring the product is built to meet target costs and margins
- Implement test plans, oversee product testing, and ensure all products are designed for manufacture.
- Support the evolution of internal product development processes and best practices.

- Implementation of product processes and best practices resulting in clear improvements to the way Mous develop backpacks
🤓 Skills requirements:
Hard skills (non-negotiable):
- 6+ years’ experience in product development (bags, accessories, or apparel).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expert knowledge in fabric construction, manufacturing, and production workflows.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator essential).
- Experience in technical drawing, cost engineering, and BOM management.
- Strong background in supplier communication and sample management.
Soft skills:
- Self-starter with leadership qualities.
- Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Creative problem-solver with attention to detail and pride in quality.
- Adaptable, motivated, and confident decision-maker.
- Able to coach and mentor junior team members.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience leading a small team.
- Familiarity with DFMEA or similar risk assessment tools.
- Supplier travel experience in SEA.
- Knowledge of performance materials, sewing, pattern drafting, and colour approvals.
- Experience with project management systems
